Over the weekend we decided that TB is going to move in with us. This will allow us to get a bigger place than we could otherwise afford and get TB out of his parents’ house. Plus it’ll be a lot of fun. So now we’ve focused our search on three bedroom apartments and townhouses.
On Sunday we drove to Wilmington to check out the first apartment on our list. We tried calling ahead but just got a message indicating that they had open hours from 11:00 to 4:00. When we got there around 2:30 we found a piece of paper taped over the Sunday hours on the sign in front and a locked leasing office. I think they just wanted to go home early.
We decided to go check out the second place on our list, which was just down the road a bit. The available unit was a three bedroom two floor townhome. The place was very nice but their pet policy may be a problem. They want one month’s rent as a cat deposit and it is unclear if they would even allow two cats (I’m waiting for a call back on that one). After that we went bowling at Bowlerama an awesome 74-lane bowling alley just a few minutes away from the apartment. After bowling we headed back to TB’s, stopping at Waffle House for lunch on the way.
On Monday, Megan had a meeting with the woman in charge of placing people in their practicums for the year so we decided to try to check out the place we missed on Sunday before her meeting. When we got there we found out that there wouldn’t be a unit available until September. We decided to check out the model anyway. It turned out that the whole place was pretty crappy so it didn’t really matter that nothing was available. We stopped in at one more place on our way to Megan’s meeting but it didn’t have any three bedroom units available.
At that point we decided that we’d look around some more online once we got back to Cleveland and just send TB to look at the places. If we find something that he likes, we’ll drive back to make sure we like it too. One way or the other though, we should have a decision made in the next week.
