New Roommate

Over the weekend we decided that TB is going to move in with us. This will allow us to get a bigger place than we could otherwise afford and get TB out of his parents’ house. Plus it’ll be a lot of fun. So now we’ve focused our search on three bedroom apartments and townhouses.

On Sunday we drove to Wilmington to check out the first apartment on our list. We tried calling ahead but just got a message indicating that they had open hours from 11:00 to 4:00. When we got there around 2:30 we found a piece of paper taped over the Sunday hours on the sign in front and a locked leasing office. I think they just wanted to go home early.

We decided to go check out the second place on our list, which was just down the road a bit. The available unit was a three bedroom two floor townhome. The place was very nice but their pet policy may be a problem. They want one month’s rent as a cat deposit and it is unclear if they would even allow two cats (I’m waiting for a call back on that one). After that we went bowling at Bowlerama an awesome 74-lane bowling alley just a few minutes away from the apartment. After bowling we headed back to TB’s, stopping at Waffle House for lunch on the way.

On Monday, Megan had a meeting with the woman in charge of placing people in their practicums for the year so we decided to try to check out the place we missed on Sunday before her meeting. When we got there we found out that there wouldn’t be a unit available until September. We decided to check out the model anyway. It turned out that the whole place was pretty crappy so it didn’t really matter that nothing was available. We stopped in at one more place on our way to Megan’s meeting but it didn’t have any three bedroom units available.

At that point we decided that we’d look around some more online once we got back to Cleveland and just send TB to look at the places. If we find something that he likes, we’ll drive back to make sure we like it too. One way or the other though, we should have a decision made in the next week.

Weekend Reunion

Over the weekend I saw the most Cutler people that I had seen since graduation 2002. It was very cool hanging out with Ari, Mike, Jeremy, Paul, Scottish Brian, Sean and TB all at the same time (Photos). It’s too bad we couldn’t have everyone together.

Roadtrip

TB and Sean are leaving on their roadtrip tomorrow morning. TB wanted to keep a journal of their trip so I added a weblog to my MT installation for him. For updates from the trip, check out TB’s roadtrip weblog.

You Shoulda Been There

Last night, Sean threw the “Best Party Ever.”

I’m just wondering why it seems that at every party, someone takes a picture of me that looks like this. I realize that I make my fair share of strange faces, but so do a lot of other people. How come I’m the only one that gets caught on camera?

Anyway, it was a great party and best of all: everyone survived. Sean should be proud.

Cutler Pictures are Back

I’ve moved the Cutler Pictures from Zope-Photo to Gallery (for now). I hope to eventaully store them in a way that it will display more meta information. Maybe TB will let me use his new image browser project when he’s finished…

The link at the left is a redirect to their current location. If it doesn’t work for you can link directly by clicking here.

[A couple sets of photos are missing. They'll be back once I find my darned backups.]

TB is Back

Tall Brian visited his parents for a couple weeks and now he’s back living in my apartment. This time he’s made himself more at home with a Coleman air mattress and his Smurf sheets.

Happy Birthday Megan!

Today is Megan’s birthday. She can look forward to 24 hours of doing whatever she wants to do and me being nice about it.

No More TB

After one more night of staying up past 4am, one more early Sunday morning bowling session, and a few more beef patties, TB has left. It’s hard to believe that he was here for sixteen days. I’m going to miss all of the late-night randomness but getting to sleep on time might be a good thing.

I Have TB (Tall Brian)

Tall Brian is visiting for a couple weeks and he’s staying at my place. My normally mundane lifestyle is going to be replaced with lots of bowling, trips to Super-K and staying up ’til 4am.

I love it.

Remember These?

Most of my old pictures are accessible again! Hopefully I’ll be able to find my backup of the captions and meta information soon. It’s hosted on one of my home computers so it may be a little slow for now.
