Megan’s father died suddenly of a heart attack late Sunday night. Megan found out early Monday morning. She searched online a flight for that afternoon from Baltimore to Cleveland, and left for the airport almost immediately. I had to work on Monday and Tuesday morning, but I was able to find people to cover my shifts for the rest of the week. I drove to Cleveland and got in around 4:45am on Wednesday. There were viewings today and the funeral services will be in the morning on Thursday.

I didn’t get a chance to know him as well as I would have liked, but I’m glad I talked with him as much as I did. He was very proud of all of his children and more than anything else, he wanted them to be doing things that made them happy. I’d like to think that some of his outlook on life rubbed off on me.

Please take this opportunity to tell the people you care about that you love them. Kerry Patrick Kimbrell, you will be missed.

Funeral services Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at CRACIUN BERRY FUNERAL HOME, 7200 DETROIT AVE. where friends may call 2-4 AND 7-9 P.M. WEDNESDAY. Burial Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery

    Dear Kerry-Ann,
    I’m not sure if you will remember me, but I went to grade school with you at Ascension in Cleveland, Ohio. My last name at the time was (the very un-irish) Gumbish. I was researching some irish dance schools for my boys when we came across your name. I am truely sorry about your father, he was a very kind man. Your family has my condolences.
