Oral arguments were heard this morning in one of this year’s more interesting US Supreme Court cases. Lawrence v. Texas is a challenge of a Texas state law prohibiting consensual homosexual sex.

It amazes me how Americans laud the rights we have in this country yet in the year 2003 a couple isn’t free to behave how they choose in the privacy of their own home.

NPR had a short recap of today’s arguments (I love the way Nina Totenberg reads the court transcripts). If you’re not into the whole audio thing or you want a little more detail you can check out a Slate article on the subject.

I really do love this country but man it frustrates the hell out of me sometimes.
