Now that all the application craziness is over, the question is: Will Megan ever get back to a normal sleep schedule?
Yes… I think. Granted, it is 2:30am and I have just woken from 12 hours of sleep… but it’s all good. Tonight I will fall asleep around 6pm and sleeping for 12 hours will get me right back on track to a normal schedule.
For some reason I don’t believe you…
I’ll believe it when I see it.
If a normal sleep schedule is ever revived it will die a very quick death upon entrance into one of the applied to graduate schools. There is something about being a student that prevents sleep.
The short answer: no. Papers and exams are way too important, and constantly disrupt normal sleep cycles. On the other hand, I didn’t read anything for class last semester that was interesting enough to keep me awake past midnight.
Another consideration might be the definition of normal. My normal sleep schedule in college was anything but.
My definition or ‘normal’ sleep is fairly inclusive. To satisfy it all a person needs to do is sleep more during hours of darkness than hours of light in any given 24-hour period.
By these standards, Megan fails miserably.
It’s not my fault. Something with my sleep schedule is terribly screwy. I think I function on 30 hour days or something, so I sleep at a different time each day. Hm.
