I plan to follow along and get a job wherever she ends up which could be any one these cities: Philadelphia, Dayton, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Terre Haute IN, New Brunswick NJ, Chicago, Portland OR, Indiana PA, or maybe even good ol’ Cleveland OH.
It’ll be fun.
If megan cares I vote against indiana, I fucking hate that state.
That got me thinking: Maybe I should put up a poll for where Megan should go to school…
You know how people describe Columbus as a confluence of hicks? Indianapolis is much worse, judging by my trip this summer. But, um, both my cousin and Subway Jared live there, so it can’t be all bad. And we already know that Indiana PA is full of hicks and college students, but you’d probaly get visits from Brett’s parents.
My only experience with Indianapolis is the Indy 500 which is one of the biggest gathering of hicks ever. They sure do have fun the night before and after though. Oh, and you can stop at Tom Raper RVs on the way from Cleveland and get free hot dogs.
Jeez, what happened to Philly? I guess I have to change my vote to New Brunswick (which I assume is Rutgers?).
Oops, I forgot Philly! That’s pretty bad considering the reason I posted this:
I was watching Top 5: Foods Smothered in Cheese and one of the foods was the Philly Cheese Steak. I thought that I could use foods of each city as part of my selection process. In this category Philly is winning.
[I'll go edit the main post to include The City of Brotherly Love and Cheese Steaks...]
Is there a food better than the Philly Cheese Steak? Nevermind, I’ll answer that: No.
Chicago does have the deep-dish pizza… but I think the Philly barely edges it out.
Cincinnati is currently third in the food ranking w/ Skyline.
I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Philadelphia, as my girlfriend goes to school just outside of the city. It’s fairly nice, similar to Cleveland except the downtown area is less run-down, and more active. It has a good Chinatown.
My vote, of course, goes to Portland OR. Oregon = The. Best. State. Ever.
hmmm… maybe we oughta wait and see who actually accepts me before ranking all the cities…there is a reason I am applying to 13 schools. Although I have to say that Portland and Chicago are looking like definite possibilities. Well, at least I hope Portland is
Philly has really straight streets. And cheese steaks. And the Ben Franklin Bridge with lights that change colors and follow trains across it. And of course there’s Zipperhead. And finally, it has uniformed school girls from the Friends Select School. Steel Erection is the obvious result.
I vote against Indiana, PA. There is not much to do there (actually zero – I was just there), not much excitement, and it doesn’t have very interesting scenery. Mostly its old people (the most nursing homes per capita than anywhere else in the state and maybe country) and Wal-Mart. I vote for Portland, because it has the coolest scenery (The Cascades), and it has to have more to do than Indiana. But, if you DO go to Indiana, my parents may just visit you… and bring care packages.
Hi,
I missed that show on the Top 5 things smothered in cheese. Just wondering if my favorite cheese snack made it. Can someone supply those top 5 cheese smothered morsels?
Thanks!
I just caught the last five minutes of that episode again and here’s the list:
The Top 5 Cheese Indulgences
5. Nachos
4. Italian Feast
3. Philly Cheesesteak
2. Grilled Cheese Sandwich
1. Cheesecake
My personal list would be:
5. Quesadilla
4. Philly Cheesesteak
3. Nachos
2. A big chunk of extra-sharp cheddar
1. Cheesecake (my grandma’s of course)
How can anyone rank a Grilled Cheese Sandwich above a Philly Cheesesteak? Unless it’s a Bacon Grilled Cheese Sandwish, but even then it’s a close call.
