I learned something new new tonight while doing the prep work for a fruit cake recipe (don’t laugh).

I’m sure you knew that soaking meat in order to flavor or tenderize it is called marinating. Did you know that soaking non-meat is more correctly called macerating? Sounds dirty doesn’t it?
