Our
three-hour lunch meeting went well. I wouldn’t dare post a spoiler here so all I’ll say is that it left me satisfied. Being the middle of the story, there wasn’t as much character development as the first one but a lot more action. Luckily this one ended at a more natural break-point so I may be able to bear another year wait.
Oh, and the ents were so cool.
… and dude, Gollum kicked ass!
I have also decided that Enya and Liv Tyler are actually the same person. When one floated on screen, the other followed in the soundtrack.
The best part is that someone I went with was smart enough to buy the tickets online ahead of time, so we got to walk past the long line of people dressed in capes waiting outside.
TTT was all right, through I didn’t like how they strayed from the book, especially with the character of Faramir.
There were a few too many moments where entire battles stopped for dramatic speeches too.
Blah.
(the above is from me)
Yeah, my biggest complaint about the movie is that there were so many pauses like that. The one that really bugged me was when they were fleeing for their lives to Helms Deep yet Aragorn and Eowyn had enough time to pause and make lovey eyes at each other.
Some of the deviations from the book do strike me as unnecessary but I guess that’s why it’s almost always better to read the book.
For the most part I think I was able to look past those few moments and really enjoy the film for what it is though.
yeah the part with faramir was dumb as hell. most disapointing was that the ents at first decided not to help? Thats weak, how would they not know that half their forest was fucked to hell?
We actually talked about that at work right after. We couldn’t figure out why having the ents be ignorant about what was going on in their forest was necessary.
